Monthly Introductory Guitar Workshops for Children and Teens
If you're between the ages of 8 and 18, we'll help you decide if the guitar is the right musical instrument for you. In this special two-hour workshop, we'll teach you the basics of guitar and help you discover the joys of making your own music. Bring your own guitar, or use one of ours. Whether you've never picked up a guitar before, or played years ago, we'll show you what you need to get started right now. This 2-hour workshop is for anyone over the age of 18. Free Weekly Hosted Jam Sessions
Play your favorite songs and learn some new ones in these free, public hour-long Thursday night jam sessions hosted by the String Letter Music School Staff Instructors. We rotate through different styles each week, including rock, roots & blues, jazz & Latin, and folk, so be sure to check the Calendar for details on each jam, including a short list of tunes you can prepare in advance. All instruments are welcome; we provide the drums, piano, and amplifiers.
Intensive Workshops & Master Classes
Are you looking for intensive instruction in a particular style or technique but have limited time? Join one of our single-session Saturday afternoon workshops, taught by both our Staff Instructors and an ever-expanding roster of Guest Artists such as Alex de Grassi, Scott Nygaard, Jimmy Dillon, and Peppino D’Agostino.
